August 2020 - The Bacchae with Jeremy Seghers

Ashleigh is currently music directing and performing in Jeremy Seghers' outdoor experimental production of Euripides' tragedy, The Bacchae, playing in Kissimmee at Osceola Arts and again in Orlando. For this production, Ashleigh has composed music for four choral odes and one introductory song on 6-string acoustic guitar. The show's concept is loosely tied to the deadly charm of Charles Manson, with Dionysus standing in as a powerful and charismatic cult leader and his Maenads leading the charge to commit atrocities in his name. The arrangement of each piece of music is an homage to the folk rock music of the 60s and 70s, ranging from the influences of Carole King, Paul Simon, and Bob Dylan, to Fleetwood Mac and The Eagles.
